We are always looking for string teachers to fill roles as assistant and lead teachers, on both a regular and substitute basis. Currently our programs are in the Redmond/Kirkland/Woodinville area, before or after school hours. Job description:
Lead class through provided lesson plan each week. Demonstrate proper posture, playing position and bow hold. Use classroom management techniques as needed to keep students engaged. Observe and correct student playing posture. Introduce and demonstrate playing techniques throughout course. Be able to apply pedagogical knowledge and teaching experience to modify pace of curriculum to fit needs of the class. Develop music teaching and classroom management skills of assistant teacher.
Minimum qualifications:
* BA in Music Performance or Music Education, or equivalent in performance/teaching experience
*Competency on violin, viola or cello
*Orchestral playing experience
*3+ years violin, viola or cello teaching experience
*Patience, kindness and enthusiasm while working with kids
